What do We Do?

The #dedoc° voices scholarship program grants diabetes advocates access to some of the world’s most renowned scientific conferences, such as ATTD, EASD and ISPAD. It ensures the presence of the voice of people with diabetes, empowers a new generation of advocates and provides a dedicated platform for people with diabetes, healthcare providers and industry leaders to meet and exchange.

“The #dedoc° voices program has given me the opportunity to speak to a wider audience about diabetes, especially about type 2 diabetes – without the fear of stigmatisation.”

Ken Tait, T2D
#dedoc° voice from the UK

“The #dedoc° voices program has helped me find my voice as a diabetes advocate. I have learned to speak up and pay it forward to my community. So if you are an advocate, I encourage you to apply!”

Thapi Semenya, T1D

#dedoc° voice from South Africa

#dedoc° voices are powerful advocates who have proven themselves in the field of diabetes advocacy and have a strong presence in the Diabetes Online Community. They join scientific sessions and industry symposia to curate, translate and share their learnings with their communities in a way that is easily accessible, understood and appreciated by people living with diabetes around the world. Their social media presence creates value for conference organisers, partners and the global diabetes community alike.

Since 2020, #dedoc° has awarded more than 600 scholarships to outstanding advocates from more than 100 countries. Successful applicants join a powerful network of like-minded peers who mentor and support each others’ advocacy work. Participation may be virtual or in-person.

The #dedoc° voices are a vibrant community of people living with diabetes committed to #PayItForward.

#dedoc° voices for partners

Partners contribute to the #dedoc° voices program because they wish to engage with leading diabetes advocates in a compliant way. They do so through a non-commercial, non-exclusive multi-sponsorship approach to ensure the highest degree of independence, transparency and credibility for the patient voice.
